Choose Today Whom You Will Serve

You want to serve Jesus. But your job is hectic, your family demanding, and there are too many distractions. You don’t have time or energy to do much. What can you do?

*The Bible shows us the power of making a firm decision and living by it.

*You will save a lot of time, energy, and pain by making a firm commitment to make Christ your first priority.

* When you have the desire, God will make a way.
God will free you from your limitations, your distractions, and the time/energy stealers in your life. You will grow closer to Jesus and do great things for God.


Choose This Day Whom You Will Serve
During the exodus from Egypt, Joshua confronted the Israelites who were being affected by the culture (Egypt). He demanded they settle this matter once and for all. He asked them to make a firm decision and live by it.

..choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve ... But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.”
Joshua 24:15 NIV

Nothing will change your life more than this one decision.

Psalm 5:3 TPT calls us to turn our problems, our pain, and our lives over to God. To lay it all before Him and let His fire consume all that is not from Him.

At each and every sunrise you will hear my voice
as I prepare my sacrifice of prayer to you.
Every morning I lay out the pieces of my life on the altar
and wait for your fire to fall upon my heart.

True Worship is Us Surrendering Our Lives to God
Romans 12:1 NIV
Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.

Our Love Empowers Our Daily Sacrifice – our daily commitment to live first and foremost for God.

John 14:15 TPT
Loving me empowers you to obey my commands.

When our love for Jesus burns in our hearts, we will not be able to deny Him anything. We love Jesus because we know He loves us and has a great life waiting for us on the other side of obedience.

2 Corinthians 5:14
"Christ's love compels us."

Knowing His love compels us – it draws us, urges us forward, His love calls us to Him.



Activation  
Take every part of your life. Your relationships, your problems, your health, your work, your finances, everything. Put them on the altar. Wait a minute. Your time and your energy, put them on the altar too. 

Now crawl up on the altar yourself. Give yourself - every part of you, to Jesus. 

1 Corinthians 6:19-20 AMP:
Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is within you, whom you have [received as a gift] from God, and that you are not your own [property]? 20 You were bought with a price [you were actually purchased with the precious blood of Jesus and made His own]. So then, honor and glorify God with your body.

Pray This Prayer of Surrender and Commitment Out Loud.

Hear my voice, Jesus.
I surrender my life to You completely.
I lay out the pieces of my life on the altar.
I am a living sacrifice. I will live for You today.
I wait for Your fire (Holy Spirit empowering) to fall on my heart.
Create in me greater desire for You and the things of God.
My time and my energy are my life. I give them to You today.
I will go where you send me and do what you tell me.
Use me, God, for Your glory.
Use me for a purpose greater than myself.
To You be all glory.
In Jesus name, Amen.

As you choose to serve Jesus every morning, you will be transformed – changed into a new person. And God will use you to do great things.
