Jeremiah 17:9 warns, the heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it? I the Lord Search the heart and examine the mind. The truth is, we often don't know our own hearts, the motives, the desires or wounds that are affecting us. But God does. When you spend time in Scripture, it's like sitting with a friend who loves you enough to gently show you your blind spots and then help you.
Hebrews 4:12 declares, for the word of God is alive and active, sharper than any double edged sword. It penetrates even the dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow. It judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. God's word cuts through our self deception and shows us what's clearly going on in our hearts.
Psalm Um 139:23:24 David wrote, Search me O God, and know my heart. Try me and know my thoughts and see if there be any grievous way in me and believe me in the way everlasting.
David asked God to reveal any offensive way in him and then help him remove it. Pray that prayer and let God reveal the true condition of your heart. Scripture is your perfect GPS for making life decisions.
