Luke 16 verses 10 to 13 teach us a powerful process to grow in faithfulness. Verse 10 Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much. And whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much. This speaks of increase. Be faithful with what God has given you, and he will increase it.

God wants to start small and cultivate faithfulness. Cultivate's an agricultural term. It reflects consistent effort. We'll bear fruit, but it takes time, a lot of time and continuous engagement in the process of tending the seeds planted in our hearts. Verse 11 so if you've not been trustworthy in handling worldly wealth, who will trust you with true riches?

This speaks of trust. If you can't be trusted with the things of this world, how could you be trusted with spiritual things? Faithfulness in our daily lives enables us to handle spiritual things faithfully. Verse 12 and if you've not been trustworthy with someone else's property, who will give you property of your own?

This is about honor. To receive our own responsibilities, we must honor those we serve. Our bosses, our spiritual leaders, pastors, etc. As we honor others, God will honor us with our own responsibilities. Faithfulness, then, involves trust and honor, which brings increase.

Faithfulness is a key to developing all the fruit of the Spirit.
