What happens when you meet with God every morning? When you commit to starting your day with God, incredible things are going to happen to you. My story this is based on my journal. August 12, 2017. This was right before I had a surgery for a hip replacement. I was at a breaking point, desperate to feel Jesus love.

Pain had consumed my life. So overwhelming that it clouded my vision. I couldn't see anything else but the pain. Desperately, I asked him, jesus, how are you loving me right now? I can't see it. His response was filled with both truth and love. I heard you've been drinking from the wrong pool.

The pool of despair, discouragement, and dark thoughts. You think you're in a desert. You think there's a dark cloud over you, but look again. It's not a dark cloud. It's a rain cloud. And then I heard him laugh. A joyful, freeing sound. Oh, how awesome that was. Drink from the water I give you.

Sweet life giving water. Not the bitter water of this world, but the water from heaven. Open your mouth and I will fill it. Just as I provided for Elijah with the ravens. I will provide for you. I will sustain you with spiritual food and drink. Now, uh, get up.

Dust yourself off. It's time to move forward. You're walking with me. Psalm, um, 81:10 became a lifeline as I went through that time of horrible pain. Open wide your mouth and I will fill it. Since then, my mornings have never been the same. Every day I meet Jesus in his word, open and ready to be filled.

And he never fails to show up. He gives me clear direction, specific scriptures that I end up needing later in the day. He often answers my questions as I open my Bible, and boom, there it is. The answer to a perplexing problem that I've been struggling with, that I've been praying about.

He fills me with hope when I feel discouraged. He gives me wisdom for the choices I face and strength to keep going. That's not just my story. So many others have experienced the same thing. How God's word speaks to them in their darkest moments, offering hope, clarity, and life.
