The Problem:
Mornings are chaos for most of us. The alarm goes off, and before we even sit up, the world starts pressing in. Thoughts of unfinished work, unpaid bills, and today’s packed schedule flood our minds. Our phones light up with dings and pings—urgent texts, missed calls, and endless notifications.
And before we know it, the day spirals out of control. We feel drained, overwhelmed, and disconnected from what truly matters. But what if there was a way to pause and regain control? A way to enter each day with peace, purpose, and power?

The Manna Test:
This isn’t a new idea. God Himself set this pattern thousands of years ago in a desert. When the Israelites wandered through the wilderness, God fed them with manna—bread that fell from heaven every day. But there was one condition: they had to gather the manna they needed first thing every morning. If they waited too long, the hot desert sun melted the manna. If they tried to keep leftovers, it rotted overnight.
Exodus 16:4

For 40 years, this was their daily routine: wake up, gather the manna, and rely on God’s provision for that day.

This wasn't about food; it was about priority and trust.

Think about it: God could have provided a month's supply at once. Instead, He chose daily provision for a profound reason. He wanted a daily relationship with His people. This same pattern continues today, but in an even more powerful way.

The Spiritual Connection Today

John 6:35 (TPT)
Jesus said to them, “I am the Bread of Life. Come every day to me and you will never be hungry. Believe in me and you will never be thirsty.”

The physical bread of God for the Israelites was manna. Today, we have much better bread. Jesus is the bread of life that falls fresh into our lives every day. “The bread that comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.”

Like the Israelites who had to gather the manna for that day every morning, we have to meet with Jesus first thing in the morning—in his Word, in prayer, and in worship. That is how we gather the spiritual nourishment we need to face the day.

What Happens When You Meet God Every Morning?
When you commit to starting your day with God, incredible things happen. Here are three life-changing benefits of this daily practice:

1. Heart Connection
The Bible isn’t just a book; it’s alive and active (Hebrews 4:12). When you read God’s Word, you’re not just reading words on a page—you’re encountering the living God.
In John 6:32-33
Every morning, Jesus offers Himself to you. When you open the Bible, He speaks directly to your heart. He encourages you, strengthens you, and reminds you of His love as He gives you what you need for that day.

2. Divine Direction
Psalm 119:105 says:
“Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.”
When you start your day with Scripture, God gives you clarity and wisdom for the decisions you’ll face. Unlike you, He knows what is going to happen later that day and He will prepare you to face it. It’s like a spiritual GPS, helping you navigate the challenges of the day with confidence.

3. Sustainable Strength
Life can be exhausting. Stress, responsibilities, and unexpected challenges drain us. But God’s Word renews us. Unlike caffeine or quick fixes, it gives you strength that builds over time. Each day’s bread sustains you, but it must be gathered fresh daily.

Matthew 6:11 "Give us today our daily bread."

Matthew 4:4 "Jesus answered, ‘It is written: Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’"

When you meet with God every morning, He gives you the strength you need—not just to get through the day but to thrive in it. You no longer face the challenges of the day on your own. You walk with God throughout the day.

Activation:
The key to transformation is starting small and staying consistent. Here’s how to begin:
• Set a specific time each morning (before distractions take over).
• Find a quiet place where you can focus.
• Spend 10-15 minutes reading Scripture and listening to God. Start with the Psalms or Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke & John). My favorite Psalm is Psalm 119.
• Journal what stands out to you and pray over it.
You’ll be amazed at how this simple practice changes your perspective, your decisions, and your life. You’ll also be amazed at how many times God gives you a verse that is exactly what you need to deal with a problem that day!
