What if justice wasn’t about giving people what they deserve, but about love that heals and restores? This is the justice Jesus offers.

Millie was crushed when she found out that Paula, her best friend, was spreading spread false rumors about her. Instead of ending the friendship, she forgave her. Millie told Paula how much that hurt. And she gave Paula a chance to regain her trust over time.

Carlos caught Anne stealing bread and meat from the store where he worked. Then he discovered that Anne was homeless with two hungry daughters. Instead of pressing charges, he persuaded the owner to hire her to stock shelves. Carlos also helped Anne and her girls find a homeless shelter until they could get back on their feet.

Justice (several definitions) Most of us think of justice as:
*the quality of being just; righteousness, fairness, or moral rightness:
*a second definitions is giving people what they should receive – punishment or reward

Jesus Redefined Justice Through the Cross
On the cross, Jesus redefined justice by declaring, “This is my justice. I have paid for every wrong and every sin humanity will ever commit.” While God remains the ultimate judge, Jesus calls us to a higher standard of mercy and grace:
“Luke 6:37
Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.”

The justice Jesus brought to earth is not rooted in punishment but in compassion and forgiveness. His justice convicts us of sin, but it also leads us to repentance. It is a justice that restores what is broken, heals what is wounded, and transforms us into new creations.

Jesus’ justice absolutely will not compromise with sin—the penalty for sin is death. Yet, His love for sinners is unconditional. His justice aches for those held captive by Satan, sin, and self, and it reaches out to save, heal, and deliver them.

The justice of Jesus does not exclude or reject the unclean. Instead, it prays for them, cares for them, and restores them. (See how Jesus healed the unclean in Matthew 8–9.)

Jesus’ Justice is holiness empowered by love.

Father, I pray that every person who hears this who is a victim of some wrong, will be filled with Your grace to be healed and restored
as they forgive those who hurt them
and pray for those who wronged them to be healed and restored by you.
