What if justice wasn't about giving people what they deserve, but about love that heals and restores? Millie was crushed when she found out that Paula, her best friend, was spreading false rumors about her. Instead of ending the friendship, she forgave her. Millie told Paula how much it hurt, and then she gave Paula a chance to regain her trust over time.

The way most of us think about justice is giving people what they should receive, either punishment or reward. Jesus doesn't give us what we deserve. The justice Jesus brought to earth is not rooted in punishment, but in compassion and forgiveness. His justice convicts us of sin, but it also leads us to repentance.

It's a justice that restores what is broken, heals what is wounded, and transforms us into new people. Jesus calls us to a higher standard of mercy and grace. Luke 6:37 do not judge and you will not be judged. Do not condemn and you will not be condemned. Forgive and you will be forgiven.

Ephesians 4:32 Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ, God forgave you. 1 Peter 4:8 above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins as we give others Jesus love his mercy and undeserved favor. His justice convicts of sin and leads to repentance.

It restores what is broken, heals what is wounded, and transforms people.
